Orlando attracts millions of visitors annually. Many will visit the theme parks or one of our many attractions. In previous years people were not focused on our food scene. But I’m excited about the new requests from many of my foodie friends who want bakery recommendations!

With millions of people heading to Orlando, FL, every year for its attractions, you can bet there are high expectations for the food. Luckily, this city doesn’t disappoint, with many of the best bakeries in Orlando open and ready to serve freshly baked pastries and sweet treats.

Here are 17 of the best bakeries (sweet-tooth approved!) to check out while in Orlando!

1. Melao Bakery

Head to Melao Bakery for a mouthwatering selection of Puerto Rican food and some of the best bakery treats around! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available during the day, along with a bakery section packed with sweets.

A quick peek into the display case, and you’ll find options like donuts, baklava, and cake slices. If your day is packed with activities, consider ordering ahead from this bakery for mealtime for some fresh-made breakfast sandwiches and sweet treats.

2. Mecatos Bakery & Café

If you’re in the mood to try Colombian sweet treats, such as quesitos (cream cheese-filled pastries), alfajores (cookies filled with caramel), and guava pastries, Mecatos Bakery & Café is a top choice. This Colombian bakery serves breakfast sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, fresh juices, and a delicious array of baked goods.

Their menu includes sandwiches made with supremely flakey croissants that are a must-try alongside a cup of café con leche (coffee with milk).

You can also order one of their custom cakes for a special occasion, which includes options such as red velvets, German chocolate cake, and a Reese’s® peanut butter cake.

4. Buttermilk Bakery

Support a local business and enjoy some treats by stopping at the Buttermilk Bakery, a family-owned spot specializing in American and French food and goodies. It’s a great spot for lunchtime, especially if it’s a nice day, as there is shaded seating outdoors. You’ll find fruit-covered tarts, pies, special cakes for celebrations, and other fresh-baked delights on the menu.

There is quite a large selection of savory and sweet pastries at this spot, ranging from egg custard to dry pork filling options. These goodies make a great to-go option, as they’re easy to eat without a plate or utensils. As far as boba options, there are hot, milk, and flavored tea options. You may want to try a slush (similar to a milkshake) on hot days. 

6. Gideon’s Bakehouse

Craving a decadent cookie with fun flavor options? If so, Gideon’s Bakehouse is a must-try! This bakery specializes in half-pound cookies that take 24 hours to create. They feature a range of flavors from the classic chocolate chip cookie to coffee cake and banana bread chocolate chip.

If you’re not in the mood for cookies, you can check out their impressive cake slices, which are big enough for 2-3 people to share. There’s another location in Disney Springs, which offers Disney-inspired goodies you can enjoy while visiting the park.

7. Pan Pan Bakery

Stop by Pan Pan Bakery for incredible Columbian baked goods. The menu includes tasty sweet, and savory treats, so you can easily pick up a few options for snacks or meals later in the day. Some menu options include enpanadas, buñuelos, and tres leches cakes.

They also have fresh-baked loaves of bread, sandwiches, and more. You’ll want to head here early, as this bakery is a popular spot among locals, and items sell out quickly daily. 

8. Light On The Sugar Bakery Café

You’ll find this bakery a few miles from downtown Orlando, in Winter Park. Light on the Sugar Bakery Café is new to the area, yet well worth a visit. Its minimalistic, modern décor makes it a great place to catch up on emails or hang out with a friend.

They use high-quality ingredients in their baked goods, which are Asian-inspired. Here, you’ll find unique options like ube cheesecake, black forest tart, and banana cake box sweet treats. You can also order cakes with a 2-3 day’s notice for special occasions. 

9. Sister Honey’s

Sister Honey’s is an award-winning bakery with artisan goods made from high-quality ingredients. The treats here are baked daily, so every baked good you buy will be deliciously fresh. Sister Honey’s has a little bit of everything – pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, bars, bread pudding, and more. There are no “bad” items on the menu, as everything has received rave reviews. Expect friendly service alongside any pastries you order. 

10. SmallCakes Cupcakery and Creamery

Craving something tasty and sweet after spending the day at the theme parks in Orlando? SmallCakes Cupcakery and Creamery is a perfect choice! This bakery features handcrafted cupcakes, cupcake-infused ice cream, and custom cakes. It’s even been featured on Food Network & The View.

There are 13 cupcake flavors daily, with three specialty flavors available. Other treats are also available on the menu, including cake pops, milkshakes, and edible cookie dough. You can even order a cake for your dog here (known as the pupcake). 

11. Picasso Moments Bakery

This Chinese bakery features American and Asian fusion items that will have your mouth watering. For example, they make a specialty item known as lazy bread. It has a springy texture and fun flavors like snowing cream cheese bread.

They also have various cakes, from cheesecakes to beautifully decorated occasion cakes. The menu at Picasso Moments Bakery also includes savory dishes, such as sandwiches, noodle dishes, curries, and more. Don’t forget to try a bubble tea drink while at this bakery!

12. Valhalla Bakery

You can enjoy sweet goodies in Orlando even if you follow a vegan or dairy-free diet. Valhalla Bakery specializes in vegan comfort food and cakes. You’ll find options like pies, bars, cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and more on the menu.

The death bar is a must-try here. After picking up your goodies, grab a seat outside to enjoy the weather and twinkly lights on the outdoor patio. If you want to include a meal after enjoying sweet treats, you can visit Dharma Southern Kitchen, which is connected to the bakery. 

13. Bakery Place Inc

If you’ve never had Caribbean baked goods, you’ll want to head to Bakery Place Inc. This cozy bakery features authentic Caribbean eats, from black cake to pine tarts and chicken patties. Freshly baked loaves of bread and buns can also be purchased here.

There’s also a small selection of grocery items to check out, including candy bars, canned goods, and more. 

14. Benjamin French Bakery & Cafe

This couple-owned bakery is a must-try in downtown Orlando. It was inspired by the owners’, Benjamin and Nathalie, culture. At Benjamin French Bakery & Café, you’ll find an array of French favorites, from crepes to croissants and other buttery pastries.

This bakery also has delicious and photogenic macarons that are must-tries. They also have a great selection of croissant sandwiches, salads, and quiches. Their sweet croissants are made in unexpected flavors, including Nutella bacon and Napolitain.

You can even have baked goods and coffee delivered from this bakery and café to your accommodations so you can skip the line.

15. Se7enBites

Check out Se7enBites for a unique bakery experience. This Orlando Milk District bakery focuses on southern-inspired goodies with modern twists. The menu includes breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, with sweet goodies for dessert. The chicken pot pie (featured on the show “Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives” is a must-try here.

Other menu items include a signature chicken biscuit, a smokehouse burger, and a meatloaf sandwich. As far as desserts go, there are scones, cookies, brownies, mini cakes, and more. This spot is an excellent choice whether you’re looking for a full meal or a quick dessert! 

16. Beneficial Breads Bakery

Beneficial Breads Bakery is another recently opened spot in the Orlando area. It centers on German baked goods, including German-style cheesecake made from quark, authentic loaves of bread, and traditional cakes. The bakery also has other items on the menu, including cupcakes and gluten-free sweets.

Freshly baked bread providing a dense interior and ideal crunch on the exterior is also available for purchase. Beneficial Breads Bakery uses high-quality ingredients for each of its baked goods, so you can feel good about grabbing a loaf or two and sweet treats from this spot.   

17. Paris Baguette

With locations all around the world, Paris Baguette has become popular in many cities. This company originated in Korea, which many of the available goodies reflect, like the tasty mochi donuts. Whether you have tried this bakery before or not, you’ll want to visit the Winter Park location.

This café and bakery have a cozy neighborhood feel and a large selection of baked goods. Gourmet sandwiches and salads can be eaten at the café. You can also choose from cake slices, loaves of bread, pastries, donuts, and more from the bakery area.
